20 Year Anniversary
Branding and Collateral

Project Details

Bit-Wizards celebrated its 20th year of business in 2020. Several unique digital and physical items were developed o commemorate this occasion.

Logo

The client requested a 20th Anniversary logo that could be used on graphics and promotional materials throughout the year. Because Bit-Wizards is heavily influenced by science fiction and forward-thinking, they needed a logo that could embody the hopeful spirit of curiosity optimism.

Challenge Coin

With such a heavy military presence in the area, challenge coins have become a desired collectible. This logo was later featured on a custom die-cut coin, which also listed out each of Bit-Wizards’ six core values. This coin later won a Silver for Special Event Materials in the ADDYs (Tier-1).

Annual T-Shirt

Each year, a Bit-Wizard designer creates a new company t-shirt. I designed the 20th Anniversary shirt with the same curious spirit of science fiction. As Star Trek and Star Wars are long-time sources of inspiration for the owners of BIt-Wizards, it felt appropriate to borrow a body style from the USS Enterprise to honor Wiz E Wig, the company mascot. However, the USS Wiz E Wig is an entirely custom ship, built from scratch as a 3D model using Blender. This model was later rendered to create blueprints for the shirt design.

To help tie in Star Wars, I listed all of the Bit-Wizards employees’ names in Aurebesh, the basic written language in the film series. Using this rather than English serves multiple purposes. 1) This allowed us to add to the eclectic sci-fi references of Bit-Wizards since the goal was not to reference Star Trek exclusively. 2) Including the names as Easter eggs keeps the shirt design from feeling immediately dated as employees moved on or as new employees join the team. I grouped the employee names according to their working location in the office building (remote workers are listed in the Deep Space outpost).

Annual Photo

A new company photo is taken every year. Bit-Wizards hired a photographer to take the annual photo atop the Emerald Grande at HarborWalk Village in Destin, Florida. I performed extensive photo manipulation on the raw images in Photoshop to clean up dirt spots, remove eye-sores and distracting items, and color correct.
